MBUX back row multimedia installation - is it possible
Hi all!
I just got my hands on a '21 W223 S-Class 350d 4M and so far I am very pleased with the car (my previous car was '18 W213 E-Class 220d).
But what I would like to know if it is possible to install additionally the back row MBUX multimedia system as the car didn't come with it and I would really like to have it.

If it is possible, I imagine it is not a DIY job but needs professional installation. Given that it has to be a local job, maybe your best bet is to contact your local (MB or not) aftermarket specialist shops and see if they can help you in any way. Maybe not MB OEM but some 3rd party entertainment equivalent products are available?

I've seen some android based rear monitors for the new W223. They look good, but they do not integrate with the factory system unless you run RCA lines to your factory head unit.

Is there any option to run RCA lines from the head unit? In any case the factory integration is way more advanced than just feeding video from the head unit. It includes options to control the car and even individual voice control for each screen.

My thoughts are that with a car as utterly complicated as these W223’s are, I would not do one, single thing to them that MB could point a finger at and say “sorry, but you have voided the warranty with this modification.” Better to trade the car and get one with the options you want.
