2022 - S580 and 2019 Porsche Carrera S Cabriolet

One of the things I love about my 2022 is how it picks up the phone wirelessly and gives me access to my relevant iPhone icons via CarPlay. No longer need to plug anything in. It makes for using Waze, Pandora and other icons so easy and so easy to use EITHER Hey Mercedes” or “Hey Siri” (Although I think Siri is much better)
That being said, from time to time I touch the “Home Screen”, and the CarPlay option, usually in the lower right corner, is gone and replaced with a smart phone icon. I’m not sure why that happens and how to get CarPlay back.
Today, I tried by using “Hey Mercedes….CarPlay” and all I got was the settings screens.
Any suggestions?

Apple CarPlay works great,,,when it connects! Every once in a while it won’t connect automatically and I have to go into settings (if I can find it!!) and connect it manually; and even then sometimes it won’t connect at all and system says unable to connect and suggests connecting audio (only) via BT.

Thanks TwinCam, that is, as Sonic Boom mentioned the older, wired version. That there are no wires, has been a really nice feature of CarPlay now.
The solution that seems to work: Delete the phone, forget MB on my iPhone; search and add new phone. Works well…for a while until it doesn’t. Will talk with my MB dealer to see if this is a known issue or just my phone.

Sonic and JSL555, thanks for the heads up, I’m glad to hear you are finding a way. My 2020 GLE is wired…forgot the 223 is wireless.
