Lane Assist function erratic

My lane assist function has become unstable all of a sudden. Also, the hands on wheel alerts now appear constantly even though my hands are on the wheel. I had the MBUX Zero Layer update done last Friday before the road trip I am currently on. Everything functioned perfectly for the first 300 miles of the trip. Now, when the lane assist function is turned on, the car struggles to stay in lane, and in many cases, just drifts through the lane markings. Restarting the car didn’t correct the problem. Does anyone know if the “‘driver’s assistance programs” are part of the MBUX system? I’ll turn MBUX off and on to reboot and see if that helps.
anyway, I’d sure appreciate any thoughts on this problem.

MBUX just handles user settings for drive assist feature, the actual drive control is handled by other control units.

I have zero layer and no hands on wheel related alerts as long as I have at least one hand at 10 or 2 o'clock on the wheel.

Thanks, working fine now. I had inadvertently disabled the driver assist “button.”
Another question, however.
the “zero layer” update to MBUX is great. But how do I turn off the function that changes the screen to what the dash cam is seeing when I am in Route Guidance. (Don’t know the term for that) When, for example, a turn is to be made, the screen changes to the front camera view with the changing green arrows guiding the direction of the turn. I find it distracting not seeing the GPS screen showing the turn on the map. I know I can get rid of that view by hitting the “x” but it’s a pain to have to keep doing that.

Sounds like this:

There is also the traffic light view with a separate setting. This however only comes up when you are the first car at traffic lights.

Thats the Augmented Reality. On the map screen tick the AR box to disable it
