Dash Cam Setup for Auto Start
Has anyone been able to have the dash cam start automatically each time you start the car? It is a real pain to remember to activate it each time you get in the car. I remember in the past a few individuals were able to get their dash cam to auto start each time.

Just turn on AUTO LOOP recording. That enables it to start each time the vehicle turns on. Easy Peasy. I posted some pics for other people if you look for my post,.

It is supposed to be a feature of the camera, I have two cameras in two cars connected to the cigarette lighter, the Auto Loop is on and they're starting every time I'm starting the cars.

The discussion is about the MBUX dash cam, you cannot assume it behaving like any average after market camera.

AutoLoop recording, tick the box to on
Thats it. Now it will record each time the car starts. Once the usb stick is full, it will start re-recording over the initial recordings and continue in a loop

Did you forget: "go to the workshop for a SW update if the AutoLoop recording option is not available?

Hi,
Has anyone been able to verify if 'Auto Loop' is available for the W223? I agree trying to turn on Loop recording every time I start the car is a pain, and sometimes forget to turn it on.
My car will be going in for service soon, and would like to get this update if it's truly available. Thanks.

Certainly possible on the W223. I also used to manually turn on the built-in dashcam after every restart. But after updating my MBUX to the latest version, the dashcam started operating as soon as I turned on the car.
For those still struggling, I recommend first updating your MBUX through your dealer. If that still fails, try one of this forum's resident coders (BenzNinja or EleBest PTE). Surely they will be able to get it working.

my car is 2022 E 53 coupe, and I don’t have the auto start function and when I checked in the operators manual it says that this feature is disabled in all countries. My software version apilevel/ntg6/081 and when I try to update it, it says that its up to date.
