ambient lighting
just wondering but i have noticed that my ambient lighting stays on for at least 30 minutes after i park my car in my garage and if the car is unlocked. If i lock the car the ambient lighting turns off. I have no issue with this if there is no significant battery drain but curious if there is a setting to shorten or lengthen the duration.

I'm curious if you ever found any info on this topic, as my '22 S-580 is now doing the same thing: If I exit the car and don't lock it (typical for my garage) the ambient lights stay on for 30 minutes. The dealership said this is normal, but it only started doing it after a recent service call.

Just to keep things hassle free I lock each and every time I leave the car. Too many glitches otherwise.

Could this be an intended design flaw to drain the battery more/faster? Seems like it would be given the recent trend in waste of the world.

Seems like a no harm, no foul, scenario. On mine the ambient goes out pretty quick when you lock it, haven't timed it but it's for sure off after a few minutes. I lock every time due to previous random drainage on recent cars when the keys were too close and the car was unlocked. I get why a person wouldn't want to do that but it feels easier to lock and unlock rather than the occasional dead car speedbumping me.
