renntech

any owners considering a renntech (or other) ecu mod to boost power?

would also consider their suspension module, but i don't think they've yet released for w223.

Say goodbye to your warranty. Otherwise great products and service.

sadly true. however, i believe the renntech ecu mod is a plug+play that is easily reversible for when u take in for service.
unless the shop runs a DME, might not be too much a concern/detectable 🤷

I praised Renntech on here and everywhere for years. I have had about 5 of their cars starting with a supercharged E55 to my last 2015 S550.

Later cars were under warranty and always MB serviced in San Diego. Never a problem.

I moved to NC and dealer voided my warranty. First they said it was the tune but then I proved it was reverted back with their dongle. They then said it was the mufflers.

What failed was the cats. Do I think it was the Renntech stuff??? No, I don't as they have been on my cars and never an issue. Do I think it was the a hole dealer? Yes, and in SD I doubt it would be an issue.

In the end it was about a $5k bill. What bothered me was I contacted Renntech and they were zero help. To make it even worse is they sell their downpipes with the cats which they should have told me vs buying the MB parts at a higher cost.

Their only answer was I should have removed the tune before service which had been done already. Problem is MB says they can detect no matter what is removed. If you look on the dealer map NOW very few MB still on there.

Great products and when I had dealt with them directly they were great up until that last time. A simple return call and offer of their downpipes would have smoothed it all over for me. I had even prior offered to send a new 223 to them to hav ether use it to tune. Obviously I didnt and never bough the 223 as I cant deal with the dealer network in NC as they are very different then in SD.

The dealer NEVER put it in writing that it was the Renntech products as they couldnt prove it. They denied based solely on it having ANY Renntech products and MB USA agreed with them.

Out of warranty they get my 100% endorsement but if in warranty its a no go for me.
