Poof! Gone are “Favorites”

Out of the blue….fully loaded for 4 months on my 2022 S500. I rebooted, etc….and…and….all is still gone. Probably will take me 40 minutes to load everything again. Might anyone know what went wrong?

Happens to me every once in a while too! Very annoying. Not sure why and can't find anything to troubleshoot/resolve.

Same here.. This has happened to me once or twice. Really strange too as I thought these profiles can be used across vehicles. I'm travelling to LA in two weeks and have a 2021 G63 as a rental and interested to see if i can login and have all my favorites/seating and settings migrate over like is supposed to

We are all driving computers these days no matter what brand. I love my Audi but even the Audi D5 has quirky electrical/feature disruptions every now and then. However, they are problems that I just ignore and they instantly go away or by restarting the car or by just ignoring the warnings and beeps. To date, the W222 has been the most reliable car I've ever owned.

Which MBUX SW release do you all have who are facing the issue?

My favourites have been fine (the "316" release) but I don't have anything that would take 40 minutes to restore. What would take that long?

Sorry….I’m old and prone to exaggeration when frustrated lately. Ok…25 minutes!

Here I am with my first Benzo….almost 50 years ago! Loyal owner…still driving them.

I experienced the same sudden loss of all favorites. I know it's not the biggest deal to reload but I don't even know what they were to start. Did anyone else have a fix for this? Could someone be so find to post of pic of the OEM favorite list?

Thank you in advance.

Loss of Favorites has happened a few times here also. Seems tied to an OTA update/ reset, Mercedes me Connect terms & conditions change acceptance or common center screen/ dash black-out issue. Adaptive learning of driver preferences setting seems entirely random also yet I select the same driving modes every time. It's Mercedes or almost nothing?

I had my 2022 S580 in the shop last week for a few issues, including the favorites randomly disappearing. They said they flashed a new update onto the car that supposedly fixes the problem, as the issue was listed in the "bug fixes" section of the release notes. So far, the issue has not come back for me, but then again it only happened every 30 days or so previously.

Would be useful to know your current MBUX SW release, even better if you knew what it was before the update?

This is the current version, after the update by the dealer. I'm unsure of what was installed prior.

S580 Reliability?

For those that are owners of MY22/23 s580V, may I ask how the overall experience has been when it comes to reliability? I have seen some concerning comments but wondering if that is just sample bias. Thanks !

I thoroughly enjoy my car. It has a few quirks (1. the favorites erasing monthly, 2. in C mode, the transmission shifts VERY hard from 3 to 2 and the car clunks loudly while feeling like I hit a rock or something in the road. The dealer has had the car in 3x for this, and I just scheduled visit #4, and 3. The front passenger window motor has a mind of its own. It has to go all the way up or down before you can change direction on it. It's been in 3x for this as well.).

But overall, this car is great and lightyears better than my 2020 S560 was in terms of enjoyment and number of problems.

Mine (23) has been fine except for connectivity issues which were fixed with a software update. I'm really mad about not getting my matrix lights turned on though, I shouldn't have to go to a coder to turn on functionality that is now fully legal in the US, that legality coming before it was built, and the hardware to do so having been installed on every 223 made. It irks me. MB has some serious fail with their timeliness in enabling features and there are many such fails. Want the back seat office stuff, nope. Want anything at all that they say you can download with the app? Well, you're not getting it because there is nothing there. Not. One. Thing.

Mine has been perfect, too, but just yesterday I noticed all of my custom stereo settings were gone. You know the one that walks you through the different types of intensities and bass. It wasn’t a big deal because I didn’t have to start over, instead just resetting the intensity, bass type and surround intensity. I didn’t notice anything else missing.

What are the favorites that everyone is talking about losing here?

Is anyone else still having issues with the car losing settings? My car randomly forgets favorites, loses all stored & previous nav destinations, loses the setting for automatic folding side mirrors, and has refused since new to keep the rear seat's front facing airbags enabled. Inexplicably, last week the car started remembering that setting and it holds now from day to day.

I love this car, but the some of the electronic quirks are maddening.

Yes, I think I mentioned this previously; every once in a (great) while, I loose my Favorites only.
Also, for right side mirror tilting down in reverse is lost.
Regarding the rear seat’s front facing airbags I think they are only active when someone is sitting in back seat.

On another note, the rear seat speaker sound enhancement (not sure of exact nomenclature) is only adjustable when someone is in back seat and seat belts are buckled. Sadly, this is nowhere to be found in manual and drove me crazy until I figured it out.

My Audi S8 does the same thing. I lose favorites within a week. Very aggravating.

To the guy who is standing next to his Benz many years ago, that was when owning a Benz was super special. Today, not so much.
