Yeah when EQS450 leases are near enough the same as a C300 it doesn’t surprise me much either. If you can deal with the design you are getting one hell of a nice car for the price.

I HATE the EQS, and the lease deals are so stupid even I have to consider one. They lease like $2,000 a month less than an S580.

I honestly don't mind the design, the only issue is we don't have such deals here in Canada. Well, another issue is we take road trips often and the fear of running out of electricity in the middle of nowhere is real.

They’re definitely trying to move them, although looks to not be exclusive to MB. Bimmerpost users are saying there’s now $10,000 in lease credits available on the iX, and I know that BMW has been incentivizing the i4 as well, almost bringing back the good days of cheap BMW leases.

The leases used to be one of the best things about being in a BMW.

Took my S560 for an oil change to one of the MB dealers, almost all their new inventory were EQS.....
I did not ask about their leases since I always buy cars with cash but if their leases are so low I may consider one for day to day, short distance, drives.

Guess Americans' interest towards EVs are slowing or wasn't high to begin with.

Sounds like they aren't having too much success moving them...

I think the issue is more MB's design for their EQ models...

It is well, different at least not copy and paste from other manufacturers, I will give it that.

I personally will never buy the first year or two of a new generation, especially an S class because they are so complex and they are trying to fit in as much technology as possible.

I have a 2016 (last year of a 8 year production cycle) w212 and it’s always been perfect.

my buddy wanted to get a new *** class and I told him it’s better to get the previous generation that was built from 2014 to 2020 especially the very last year and he ended up getting the 2020 since they have worked out all of the issues by then.

Production appears to exceed demand at the moment. EV inventory is at 92,000 (over 90 days on hand), higher than ICE inventory (54 days).
Was surprised that the somewhat well reviewed electrified G80 only sold 18 cars last month with over 200 in stock.

I assume that the EQ models will continue to lease at low prices given the heavy emphasis from Mercedes...

The main concern among the average American consumer regarding EVs is not the EV concept itself, but rather the limitations of range and charging time. The reason for that is the very long distances we often travel in the US and the geographical nature.

Currently, the combined range offered by all EVs, along with the time it takes to recharge and the availability of charging infrastructure, fall way too short and is not even close to ICE vehicles. Many consumers don't even care much about the environmental benefits (claims) of EVs, and even those who are interested are hesitant due to concerns about the real life cycle of the process involved in battery production (at least based on how they are produced today)

Personally, I would be willing to consider purchasing an EV if it provided a real-life range of 500+ miles. However, I would also be open to a minimum range of 350 miles, as long as the recharge time from 0% to 90% could be completed in under 10 minutes (or ideally less) with sufficient charging infrastructure in place.

I would love an EV for everyday use, it would be perfect. For travel not yet.

My issue is spending $120,000 for a vehicle I can't use in any circumstance I want...can't justify a vehicle of that cost just to "run around town"

The W222 first few model years weren't bad, MB claims did they a lot of R&D on it and even up till release they still felt they haven't done enough (at least that was information shared by another forum member here).

not surprised since the strategy shift they announced a year or so ago? They think EVs are the future and doesn't help with the originally proposed 2035 ban on gasoline new car sales which car manufacturers are actively challenging now? Due to the infrastructure and all that stuff. not to mention EVs are more expensive than ICE and even more true for MBs, take for instance GLB vs EQB.

Unless you live in a house or that every time you charge you can stay in the mall and shop for a while, the extra time required compared to just fueling up an ICE might be a deal breaker. Unless you can just swap the battery immediately, I saw some companies do that (this video was posted by another forum member before):

I also question the environmental benefits (like you mentioned) and as many forum members mentioned, it takes many years for an EV to be in service to start to really have a positive impact on the environment this doesn't include vehicles getting mechanically totaled due to an accident.

Yeah that just doesn't make any sense. Even an efficient car emits 4+ tons of CO2 into the air every year, so every EV that replaces an ICE car reduces the amount of CO2 being pumped into the air by 4 tons a year.
