For the people that want AMG Line and Executive...

https://www.mercedesalexandria.com/i...g7gb6ma002766/

MB Alexandria in Virginia has a CPO but 0 owner pre production S580 for sale. It has the executve line features but also the AMG Line. Also has a few other features that aren't offered on the W223 in the US, such as the Heated Windshield and the gesture control. This is by my records the 9th ever US spec 223 built, before even the public world unveiling.

I also saw an interesting car down in Florida a few months ago, a later but still pre production car that was a pretty normal luxury line but had the 4 seat configuration with the fixed console, individual seats, and folding tray tables. It also had the digital lights.

Anyways, would be nice if we could order a W223 like this.

That’s my servicing dealer. Nicely equipped. Lucky I’m more than half way paying mine off or i may consider it. Not worth the move for me right now…..

Shame it's missing the 4-seater option - but otherwise an outstanding sample indeed. Pretty much every option you can think of, and grey is a rare and very nice interior colour for W223.

The wood trims though. Who was it at MB that came with this stupid idea of brown on grey?

I thought I have heated windshields on my W222 & W223. You can see the wire grids in-bedded between the laminated glass. They are very hard to see, obviously. Somewhere in the manual I think I recall reading about being cautious because the windshield can get hot to the touch?

???
This car is as classic MB as it gets when it comes to the interior colors. Walnut with Black leather. No gray here…

Yeah, that's the black interior with the walnut that looks fake to me but is real; or at least that's the claim. I have it. Would be nicer with an open pore like you can get in the GLS. Or even shiny stuff that doesn't look fake for that matter...

Ohh, true, it is black - the grey interior is quite a bit more pale than this.

Classic or not, the brown high gloss walnut is probably the worst trim option for this interior. Like Crabman said, even the shiny stuff (high gloss piano black flowing lines) will be much better in this case.

Here's the grey interior I was thinking about:

It's a very early pre production car - I would avoid it. Probably will have some issues.

Burl Walnet is such a classic luxury car thing, though also not my taste so much. As for the 4 seat option, not offered on the US Spec non Maybach 223s, but I've seen 2 other pre production S580s for sale that did actually have the 4 seat configuration, one of which didn't have the massaging rear seats actually. I also have decoded vins of about 10 other US spec pre pro cars with the 4 seat config, but have no proof of them ever being sold.

For the US market, only the Maybach has the heated windshield. Every one has the magic vision control with heated nozzels for the fluid though.

Yeah, unfortinately the wood options aren't great on the 223 for me. The two open pore options are good, but the Fineline looks a little cheap to me and the aluminum lines wood is crazy expensive and I think only looks good with the beige interior. The two glossy woods are fine but very old school, and the metal weave is interesting but I prefer wood generally, and the flowing lines is nice but I just hate so much piano black.
