Car is homeless please help

Hello I have to move out the indoor garage and have to park outside any info on protection for the car??
I want to have this car until the wheels fall off

have to buy front sunshades
Don’t want the dash to peel
rear bumper protection (the rubber ones) where you pull in and out the trunk
problaly cones for the front and back.

Also an idea on a good eclectic scooter
since I come back around 2-3 am
parking is like finding a unicorn
so I’ll park far and scoot back home …

nyc non parking and super bad drivers around me that’s why my insurance also goes up every year

any other ideas please put your input…

many thanks

have to move out both my cars !!!

Sun shades are always helpful. I know our windshields are IR reflective, but that still won’t stop things from UV fading. Getting your windows tinted would also help. Even the front ones can be ceramic coated at 80%, which is nearly clear, but will offer some additional protection. Just invest a quality ceramic tint.

I can’t speak for physical protection, but our cars can record impacts I think with the built in dashcam, and it should notify you by app if it happens. But it will only record the front I think.

And, if you’re worried about theft, get a club. I know people may laugh, but these old-school mechanical devices are sometimes enough of a deterrent. Good, reputable wheel locks, too. And don’t leave anything in your car that is of value or visible. This is just all common sense stuff.

On, and buy an Apple Air Tag or some other passive tracking device.

thank you very much..

the front is my main concern cause of the heat with the leather dash is gonna peel in the heat
so I’m gonna take that advice with the tints and sunshade ..
Apple air is perfect thank you
I don’ find it funny nothing beats the club cause of the extra work to take my car

They had that issue with certain Lexus (melting) and Genesis (leather coming off) models but never heard of from MB.
My first MB was a used ML class bought 3 years CPO... that thing sat at California heat for 6 years that I kept and nothing ever happened to the leather dash.
That MB was literally called the Alablama trash can so... the 223 should be fine. My neighbor down the street left his S550 W222 for a long time outside and dash seems to be fine.

The W222 had issues with it curling, not sure if it has anything to do with the heat or anything but thankfully there are no reports for the W223.

Going to warn you against leaving an AirTag in the car. Don't know about NYC, but the latest car break-in trend here is that thieves walk around with a device that picks up Bluetooth and Wi-Fi signals coming from devices left in cars. That way they know if you are hiding a laptop or something and then break into the car. If you need to hide a device in a car nowadays you must completely power it down as most mobile devices continue to send out signals even in sleep mode and can be detected.

I also can't help thinking that if I was in your situation I would reconsider owning a car. What a pain in the rear this is going to be. Coming home that late, then having to find a spot large enough for a W223 (not exactly a small car), put all the shades and whatnot in place, scoot home, making sure you remember the street cleaning days and go back to move the car and having to scoot back to it whenever you need it. Seems like at that point it makes no sense owning a car in NYC or any other city.
