It's not special enough compared to a loaded S580. I mean how much is the "old" V12 worth over the S580's V8? How much is the different grill & trim worth? The extra rear seat leg room?

You can't quantify luxury, mathematically it will never make sense. A V12 is a big upgrade from a V8, the feel of a V12 is unmatched by anything but perhaps an EV. The extra legroom and better backseat accommodations are everything if you are being driven in the car. The exclusivity alone is worth a large amount of money to people who that has value, and it presents a great value compared to other cars of that sort like a RR Ghost or Phantom which are exponentially more. Why do you think this package at $80,000 flys off the shelf? Because its exclusive and its for people to whom $80,000 is absolutely meaningless.
A V12 is a dying thing, it only makes sense that they're not going to make revisions to the V12, its a miracle they still even offer it. If someone wants the e-ABC they can get the Maybach S580.
Remember there are lots and lots of people who say all the same things you're saying about the cars we drive. Its all relative.
Those who haven’t driven a V12 before won’t appreciate until they drive it once. I’d gladly pay 10s of thousands of dollars more for the same car to get the V12. It’s insanely fun and also smooth and luxurious at the same time.

I’ve had 17 new MB’s and paid MSRP for the first one, a 1979 450SL. Every one after that was discounted from MSRP, even my 2022 S580, which I got at the height of the virus fiasco.
Some othe dealers are advertising 10K discounts on these special edition cars, so this dealer probably won't get anywhere close to that. That's not the market value.

MB Plano has a habit of charging ADM when I can get MSRP on AMG cars at Park Place including the G63 and upcoming S63.
Am I reading the window sticker correctly? Are the champaign flutes three times as expensive as the fridge? $3,200 for the Flutes and $1,100 for the fridge? Good gracious!
While I am not a huge fan of the Maybach (except that interior...wow!) - the RR is hideous!
I know - I can hear it now - the only taste I have is in my mouth...and design preferences are subjective...but I find Bentley and RR very ugly vehicles. That's also why I don't like the Maybach exterior - too glitzy for my tastes.
This is one of many reasons I have not bought a single car from MB Plano and have bought multiple cars from Park Place - have never paid over MSRP.
I once used to think MB Park Place was always greedy for money and rob the customers without a gun. when I purchase my e-class I was shock at how much they were charging extra over mb grapevine and their service is even worse so ive always stayed with MB Plano but man oh man mb Plano have lost their mf minds with all the over-charigng mark-ups. no wonder they have hundreds of new cars just sitting on the lot

I'm assuming that you are making a joke, right? My feeling about something like this, is that it is yet another example of a company milking every last dime out of their reputation. If they want to offer an over the top expensive package such as this Silver Mist Edition, where they are already going way overboard in padding the price, why not just include the silly flutes? Or, better yet, just forget them entirely? Honestly, when I see things like this, I just imagine lottery winners who don't know what to do with their new found wealth. I would be embarrassed to have those flutes in my car, knowing the cost and I think it reflects poorly on MB for offering the option. This is not your father's Mercedes-Benz, unfortunately.
