Seat position changes randomly

Similar to another post, my new 2024 S580e seems to have issues keeping the lumbar support settings.

After I turn off the car, all other seat settings seem to remain unchanged but the lumbar settings. It would change to random positions when I turn the car on again. This happens for both the driver and passenger seats. There is no physical adjustment switch on the side of the seat on my car. The MBUX is the only place adjustments can be made.

Anyone else having the same issue or anyone knows how to fix it?

Same thing happened to me. I would get in and start the car and the seat would move/adjust. I’m pretty sure it was moving to seat position 2 or 3 whereas it should have stayed at 1, which is my primary/saved position.

Might have to do with the Easy/Entry feature but it shouldn't affect lumbar, did you try saving it to a different seat position and/or driver profile in MBUX?

It’s more related to the lumbar settings which are not impacted by easy entry.

it seems to work better if I buckle up first before starting the car.

The lumbar setting isn’t static for me, either. I can feel it change without me changing it: it will sometimes bulge out or retract while driving. Not sure why. It’s really noticeable if I slightly move myself away from the seat back while driving.

If this happens while driving, sounds like you have the "seat kinetics" feature activated. Unpredictable lumbar support changes at start-up sounds like an issue with profiles (seat memory with profiles appears random at times, haven't learned to master it in three years).

Yeah I have that turned off. It’s just the lumbar that isn’t consistent. It’s like the bladder will randomly lose air then re-inflate.

The seat memory and what is programmed into your profile are different. Sounds like the profile is setting a seat that is different from what is in memory…
