Apple Car Play
Anybody else having issues connecting to Apple Car Play lately? Keeps telling me it can’t connect because I’m connected via Bluetooth…. Isn’t it supposed to be connected via Bluetooth?!?! Deleted phone and connected again… same issue! Thanks!!

Our cars don't use Bluetooth to connect to CarPlay, they use wireless for connectivity. Have you tried to delete the Bluetooth connection to your phone AND from MBUX, and then readd? This might help. If it doesn't, then try a soft reset of the MBUX interface by long-clicking the power button for up to 10 seconds - until the system restarts. This has helped me clear up many gremlins in my car.

I gave up on Apple CarPlay long-time ago. Despite the UI being great, it sucks in all cars with Wireless capabilities (and it is too slow to load up in wired ones). Car manufacturers should step-up their game as it's their chance now. I love the UI in my Tesla and now I hate Carpay each time I get to any of my BMWs (it even feels like a stepdown UI wise). It's slow, stupid and stuck randomly including ID7 and ID8. I really really really liked the MBUX in the EQS that I had for 1-day, but still something is missing but it's getting really close to being perfect, though not there yet. Looking forward to see what the W223 facelift will bring. The ID8 in our BMW is good (not as good as MBUX), but the maps suck. Something is still missing and I don't understand why it's so hard for car manufacturers to hire a good team to develop their UI and software to be as good as CarPlay but smooth enough that we can just use it as is!.
