I had the previous C238 and loved it. The CLE is a C-class first and foremost, not an E. I hope she enjoys it.
I have a 25 CLE 53 AMG on the way for the wife, I just discovered even the most expensive interior napa leather seat option (which I ordered for $2600.00) doesn't even have double aka French stitching...not happy about that for a $95,000.00 vehicle. this was supposed lean more E and more lux...apparently not!

PFL205.064 with M276.823 (Oil pump solenoid defeated)
Although it isn't fully an E-Class it comes pretty close, forum members here shared impressions on it and it is generally positive. The reviews of CLE is also out and the reviewers' impressions are also positive.

I had a C300 loaner and thought it was excellent. Interior was nice with some hard plastics which are understandable. I wouldn’t worry about it.
As for French double stitching, if it makes you feel better my $140,000 S580 with the exclusive Napa interior also has no French stitching. It’s a design choice.
