Standby Mode

Drove on the highway for over an hour, parked my 2021 S580 and attempted to activate standby mode. "Battery charge insufficient for standby mode". Well, the battery has to be about as charged as it will ever be...anyone have issues with or any luck with activatting "standby mode"?

That is strange, what is the amperage currently at? You could monitor this in the workshop menu.

I use standby mode with my C63 pretty much whenever I go away for more than a week. It's not really necessary as my car often sits for a week even when I'm at home, but I do it as a piece of mind. I only get that message when the battery is indeed low, because I haven't been driving it for a while. Usually I actually hook it up to the trickle charger the night before I leave and then have a full battery the next morning and standby mode activates just fine. So far I only got this message once. Typically even with the little driving I do, the battery charge is enough to activate standby mode and give me a few weeks in standby mode. With a full battery it says I have about 21 weeks in standby mode, whereas with my typical charge level I only get around 7 weeks. That's still enough for most of my trips. What does it say in the Mercedes me app? If the 12V battery shows as Partially charged, then you may not be able to active standby mode and driving it for an hour doesn't necessarily fully charge the battery. I believe the W223 also uses a lithium battery if I remember correctly, and those are never fully charged on purpose, so you may wanna hook it up to a trickle charger, make sure it's in lithium mode, so that the battery gets charged to 80% and that should be sufficient for standby mode. My car has an AGM battery, so I don't have this issue.

After starting the engine, amps read 40+ as I likely ran the battery down a little by parking the car for a while with MBUX on, etc. But they dropped to 3-4 (or less sometimes) after I drive it for a while (20 minutes). MercedesMe will show a partially charged battery once in a great while (after several short trips for instance), but normally indicates a full charge. No idea what status 61, 64, 65, 66, 67, or 100 mean...they all popped up at some point. No error codes though.
