Thank you for the feedback.
So it seems like it could be the leaky airbags?

Could be, but I don't know if this is normal or not. If others chime in as say that their level 10 is solid and steady even after a few minutes then I would say it is.

I agree.
Apparently quite a few members are experiencing the same thing.
Not a huge issue, but I haven’t experienced anything like this before.
Then again, it’s my first Mercedes and its ‘Multi-contour seats’.
I just wonder what the design intentions were.

I recently went to the dealership for some service and asked them to look into the seat air bladder, they reported no problems. For now, I'll be keeping it at setting 8 and monitoring it.

Well isn't this enlightening. I noticed the lumbar support "pop" and a jerky side bolster behavior on day two of my now one week old S580. The "pop" seems to occur only once and after about 5 minutes of driving down the road. The jerky bolster operation is chronic. The seats on my SL have similar adjustments but have never popped and the side bolster movement is nice and smooth. I thought of fiddling with the adjustments to see if I just fell upon a bad zone when I adjusted the seats.

So I guess it's a widespread issue with the W223 seats.
TBH, I have now gotten used to this movement and it doesn't bother me that much anymore.
Until it becomes a lot more frequent or causes discomfort, I'll leave it be.

Seats are way too complicated and obviously were designed and put together without much testing as you are not alone here; besides other creaking issues.
I’d ignore it really.
when I looked at the internal of my W222 seats, they too complicated that I get worried about ever bringing it for repair for any kind of issue.
I even fixed the leaking bladder tube that I fixed myself. I wasn’t impressed with the quality of the tubes and how they were sealed with the bladders.

I had to insulate some of the tubes that were touching some metal parts to avoid them melting again when leaving the car parked on a very hot summer day.

Thanks for sharing the pics!
Wow, that is some complex mess of design/tubing in there.
