Lease Damage Waiver and Tire Wear
Anyone know if it covers tire wear? I lost my paperwork but I think it does. I remember reading the exclusions and it wasn’t listed but I can’t remember for sure.
I know people think these waivers are a bad deal but I don’t, especially since most manufacturers move to third-party lease inspections. I have a few scrapes on the wheels and a body scrape from someone opening their door into me that would likely fall outside of normal wear and tear.

The waiver almost never covers standard tire wear. It’s for damage, like a gouge or sidewall bubble, not for tread depth. You’ll likely be charged if your tires are below the lease return spec.
For your scrapes, that’s exactly what the waiver is good for it should cover those no problem. Check your contract online through your lender’s portal or call them to be 100% sure about your specific coverage.

That’s not true. It’s a wear and tear waiver. My Audi and BMW were the same in terms of what it covered; both covered worn brakes and tires and I turned in my previous leases through them with brakes needing replacement and worn tires and walked away without any charges. I assume the Mercedes one is the same but I wasn’t sure.
