Last if you open or close the door manually the motors will auto assist you either directions, and will stop also at any opening position.
Doors can be opened or closed via 10 different ways from different buttons/screen/shortcuts/voice/app/brake pedal/etc.

When entering the car, I open the door manually and the system keeps it steady wherever I leave it. I get in, hit the brake pedal and the door immediately closes.
I feel that this feature is very luxurious and should be available on every S Class. I’d like to see it on the E Class as well.
It opens up until exactly about 2 inches from any object (including perforated cart stations with metal bars in parking lots). The doors have sensors (multiple ones) on all 4 doors that scan the space. If you stand too close and against it’s path, the door opens but stops when it gets close to you. If the door faces any minor resistance it will also stop regardless of the space being scanned.

The ones on my BMW I7 work flawlessly. Push a button on the dash to the left of the steering column and the door opens immediately and stops before hitting whatever you are next to. I have become SO confident in their operation that I will let them open next to my beloved SL. They have been flawless in their operation.

Sounds like a great feature to have.
I remember seeing this feature not stopping as intended and hits one of the youtuber guys in the head - I think it was Throttle House
So I wasn't sure if the latest offerings from Maybach and BMW worked better or not.
Sounds like the ones you have work very well!
