Is everyone receiving OTA updates? Mercedes Me doesn't know why I am not getting updates. After corresponding since December they say I will receive on in a few days. That was 11 days ago. Some past updates do not show installed.
I'm curious why your update to 2.4 failed and the update for wireless charging failed. The update for the communication module was successful, which I believe was a prerequisite for the updates that followed to install. The lack of module for update to 2.4 is likely preventing the update to 2.6.1. But Steve is still lacking 2.6.1 with zero help from MBUSA on why. Did MBUSA or your dealer tell you that the updates were imminent?
I haven't had an update since May 2024. No explanation from dealership nor MB.
Do you have all the updates shown in my post above? Also, I discovered it's all based on the year of your car and features installed as to what updates you get. For example, there was a lane keeping update that Steve and Daniel got on their 24/25 models that I didn't get - but that's because my car doesn't have the hardware needed for the update.

MBUSA said expect update in few days...obviously not! I asked why the other updates did not load? I was told that they may not have been for my car. I said if thats the case why would it be in my app? Crickets So still waiting.

I get the updates (although I upgrade the maps manually as soon as they become available), but there is no history in my app just like Sparky66. I did have a problem with the communications/telematics module a while back which was replaced. As I recall, I couldn't connect to MercedesMe or SOS via phone from the car...it started to dial and then errored out. That defective communications module prevented any updates from coming through as well.
Talked to Mercedes Me and elevated to Tier 2 again.
Finally got an updateI

The number of updates and new features that my GLS received over the last 2 years is embarrassing for a car like this. My 1st 2019 X7 received way more updates and new features in that 1 year alone that my entire GLS lifetime now. I wonder why Mbenz doesn't take advantage of OTAs to improve the ownership experience.
My best experience with OTA was with Tesla. My Model S at that time, just via OTA, received some serious feature updates that it even never came from (not just improvements)...,just to name a few: Full UWB digital key, rear trunk auto-opening, FULL SELF DRIVING and full hands-free on highway (think about that for a moment), self-parking (summon), auto-shift feature, matrix light for adaptive headlights, steam and apple music, Grok Ai, automatic turn signals as an option if you merge without an indicator... and many more than I can remember.

So, since the past updates crapped out, and there aren't any updates rolling out at the moment, you must go into a dealer to get the ones that failed? From a software perspective I can see how they might need to do that, but I'm surprised MBUSA can't clear the failed codes and repush the updates?

It might be some logic around bandwidth concerns or huge upgrade jumping.
Perhaps your current head unit software is older, and there are sometimes (rarely) risks to doing these OTA upgrades:
- Data getting corrupted during downloading (the car most of the time uses the built in eSIM to perform the download)
- During installation, corruption might happen. (hint: the microsoft windows, "don't restart your computer during updates")
This is common with map navigation updates, NTG5.5 (W213, W205 facelift, etc), there is a special ERASE code that is used to reset the map first, and then after installing the fullnew one.
A software update at a workshop guarantees a controlled environment where the vehicle could also be charging, etc.
You can perform the software update yourself, using DTS 9.04, ZenZefi certificates and SWFinder online (paid subscription) to get the latest softwares for your VIN. No need for me.
I was going to have Ele Best update mine but my laptop o use for coding (I am a Mac guy so I just bought a cheap PC laptop for coding) was too slow to do it effectively. My dealer will not update the system, they have no idea what I’m talking about when I ask.
