It’s the fact that we aren’t the most important demographic for car designers anymore, it’s Asia. Stuff looks bizarre to us but in China they love it.

Edit: For now, try asking chatgpt to design a Ferrari EV and it still looks better than the actual thing.

It’s not technically free, but yeah I imagine future designs will be inspired but some machine learning and AI algorithms, but only to save time not to make decisions on the styling.

Haha! So true. Cars have no age associated with them; it’s even stupid and foolish to make that connection. More buyers from certain demography may happen to like a certain car more than another, but most of the cars we talk about are designed for everyone included. If it works for me, it works for my kid and it works for my grandpa, If it creaks, it creaks for all of us. If it is high tech, then it is high tech for all of us. If it’s a bad car technologically, then same for us. Even touch screens have no age. I know about certain brands targeting the younger generation with certain coupe models, but never heard of a brand trying to exclude older people from their cars.

Yeah you're right on the money on this one. All of the crazy grill crap of late, especially with BMW, was a result of feedback from customers from China. I don't get it, but it is what it is. The China market is so big now that even Audi has their own Audi China brand.

Hmmm I am not in to AI that much (or at all) but just asking chatgpt to imagine a Ferrari EV and it produced one.
