Replacement Tires for '03 S55. Slim pickings
Time to replace the Bridgestone Potenza RE050 original tires on my '03. These are supposedly the extra load tires.
The '03 OE tires are specified as:
Front: 245/45ZR18 (100Y XL, 800kg/1764# @50psi)
Rear: 265/40ZR18 (101Y XL, 825kg/1819# @ 50psi).
Bridgestone's own selection guide on its website says that the OE tire is not available. Hmmm. Seems strange. I can find a spec sheet that shows my tires, but that could be history.
Michelin shows Pilot Sport.
Goodyear has nothing.
TireRack recommends the lower-rated load factor Potenza RE 050 product.
What are you folks using now on your S55 (2003 or later)?

I have a set of new Pirelli Rosso
255/40/18
275/40/18 rear
I use this set up on mine with the same Doublespoke rims. Looks great Very quiet.
$700 for all 4 if you want them, Still have stickers on them. never mounted.
Got 2 sets for a deal.

I put the new style Pilot Sports on my car - I don't like the rounded shoulder of the new style Pilot sports but they sure are a lot stickier than my original Pilot Sports. The asymmetrical tread pattern is neat too, they look bald when you put them on. I got them from discount tire.

Also Bridgestone makes original size tires for the front and rear, but I really like the new michelins - damn are they sticky!
