Center Vents ??

Center Vents ??
On Friday I noticed that my center vents were only making cool air... not hot air. My dealer tells me this is normal, in that the center is only supposed to be a fresh air vent.
The problem is that for the first two weeks of ownership, I could swear that I could get full heat out of the center vents, now only cool air.
I have since tried every possible setting, and still only cool air.
Are these cars really designed to only add fresh air out of the center?

move that little knob in the center, make sure its not on auto. I hate the A/c control on the S class. It sucks. I can get heat out of mine, but if that knob is on auto it is cold as ice..

Thanks, as I said, I have tried every combo to no avail. I still only get cool air.
All the dealers that I have called have said this the way it is designed.
