S65 AMG in Georgetown, Washington DC
When I was in Georgetown recently, I noticed a shiny new Mercedes driving up Wisconsin Avenue...
I recognized it as the new S-class..
As it passed up, I saw the V12 BiTurbo badge on the side, and realized that it must have been the S65 AMG..
Sure enough... when I saw its behind, I confirmed that it was, in fact, the S65 AMG.
Very nice car.. makes me want one... but it's a little out of my budget right now... :-)

However, for the $180K..... lets be realistic.........I, as a 25 year old would MUCH rather spend it on a Gallardo or a 1yo Ferrari 360 Modena or find some extra cash and get a new F430.
Throwing that kind of power into an S Class.... i heard from so many that they simply cant get enough traction off the line~!

EDIT: The car was some shade of silver... it wasn't black, so I guess it wasn't your friend...

I have a new 2006 S65 with 500 miles on it now. I am trying to honor the break-in recommendations, so haven't mashed it to the floor too many times yet. But I am amazed at how good a grip I get. I got the ESP going a lot more in my 2001 S55.
With more than 500 ft-lbs available from 1,200 RPM to redline, and 738 from 2,000 to 4,000, you can afford to do a gradual launch if the surface calls for it. In the dry, at least, traction is way better than I was prepared for.

Here in California we're not due for any rain for maybe a month. So I won't know until then.
