"Just a Mercedes"
Over the holiday I was looking around the site and happened to be perusing pics of ISKI's s65 when a relative comes up and looks over my shoulder. The relative is a car enthusiast and I proceed to show him pics of the s65 and tell him about the car, 600+hp, 700+ pounds of torque, etc to which he replies, "but it is just a Mercedes".
At this point I was floored, the s65 JUST A MErCEDES?? How about the sweetest sedan of all sedans in the world, or how about one of the greatest cars ever that defies what a sedan is to the core? not just a MERECEDES by any means.
Got me to thinking though, is that what the world sees these cars as? As owners you must get that alot. I do not even consider my E class just a Mercedes.....
Anyhow I thought this was funny but true for all but those who know, and we all know the s65 is not JUST A MERCEDES!!!
PS-he did ask why the guy had such a small house with all that $$$$ in the driveway..........j/k

To anyone that is not a current reader of this forum or others like it, the S65 will still be "just" another Mercedes, and that includes some people who actually buy these AMGs--they get them simply because they are the top of the line model. Quite frankly, i am not sure the target demographic of the S65 would actually mind that the "unwashed" masses cannot discern the differences. They are either people who cannot tell the difference themselves, or are trye AMG connoseurs would would not give a rat's behind about bragging with their new Mercedes--to them, its a gift for themselves, and the only person in need to know the difference is themselves.

TRUE TRUE TRUE. Cars are just big kid toys. The S65 is "just" an MB to me. It's nice but it's still just a car. Hopefuly people have more things in life they treasure...like health, family, happiness within themselves and a few good friends.
