S65 Replacement Tires

After just over 15k miles, I am not pleased with the lack of traction that accompanies most rapid acceleration attempts when traveling under 45 mph using the stock Michelin Pilot Sport tires. (Pilot Sport, not PS2)

The stock configuration for 2006 runs 245/40-front and 275/35-rear. Does anyone have successful traction stories from increases in tire size?

Do the second-generation Pilot tires provide significantly better traction for this type of beast and/or does anyone have successful experience with another tire manufacturer for this type of vehicle?

Have you had the car since it was new? The reason I ask is that I notice the ESP light more now that the car has about 10K miles on it. You might find that a new set of the OEM tires makes a big difference.

Yes, I have had the car since new - it now has just over 15k miles and, yes, I have noticed much more ESP activity in the past 2,000 miles.

Before, I had a 2003 S600 with 19 inch wheels.
Originally I ran the Pilot sports, but later I upgraded to the Pilot Sport 2s.
The difference was like night and day, The PS2s are a MUCH MUCH better tire in my opinion. I am about to put a set on my 2006 S65 soon as well.
I will try to let you know what kind of difference I feel.

PS2 vs PS

Thanks, Roger! So far, I am seriously considering the PS2. Consequently, I will very much appreciate your feedback!

Will you replace with OEM-size tires or do you plan to increase the tire size on either front and/or rear?
