My 05 W220 S65 Sat Nav thinks it is 200 miles away from the cars location.
Problem occurred a couple of weeks ago, started sat nav on move , then reset it a couple of hundred miles into trip , the thing jumps back to the original local, and now it still moves about , but 200 miles roughly north of where the car is.
I have tried rebooting system by taking disc out and reset , using the services setting on command, but it is still broken.
Anybody had this problem ?
Any thoughts about a solution ?
Thanks
Will post on the W220 forum too

I had a problem similar to this on an ML and it turned out to be a bad connection with the antenna that receives GPS signals. With no signal, the nav system tries to fix where you are via internal sensors and it's not very accurate.
Thanks for the reply
Sounds very similar , what was the remedy ?

I think the my dealer replaced the antenna and cable. Not sure about the cable, however. It was covered under warrenty. After the fix, I had no more problems.
