Noxxin - That sounds excellent - I've got almost 800 miles, I'll be going away this week and next but I'll try to play when finally back.
In terms of tracking your own car - around here you can sign up for various SCCA events where you track your own - it just has to be inspected and you need a regulation helmet. I'm sure you guys have to have the same sort of events - time to Google.

That's why I wouldn't even buy it if they put it on.
Those front plates are drilled into the bumper with piercing screws.
Take it off now and you now have two crappy holes!
I no longer buy my cars from s.f. mercedes cause of this practice.
Due to some "class action" lawsuit that some knucklehead started and others participated in....it now automatically goes on.
Don't these people get it???
Unless you're the attorney involved in the suit, no don't get anything but a freakin coupon and screwed everyone else on their cars....duh!

My dealer has a standard form that you sign, saying that you understand that they are not putting the front bracket on, and that it is up to you to return and have it put on, once you receive your plates. They are covered, and I don't get the ugly front end. (This is the STUPIDest law in CA! 
)
The two holes are a pain, but when I had an Infiniti, and they pulled the same crap, I had my local body shop guy (high end) fill and re-spray the bumper. You could not tell there had ever been holes, the paint was perfect and it only cost a couple of hundred (cash, of course).

Thanks guys. They didn't even ask me if I wanted it put on the front bumper it was just there. I am going to swap out the dealer frame with an all black or all chrome one, I need to hold them both up to the car and see which looks better. That being said I must be the only guy in LA that has been pulled over for no front plate...not once but twice!!! This happened when I had my 5 series bmw a few years back. Needless to say I put the front plate on twice and decided to leave it the second time. It doesn't really bother me and since I partake in way to much 420 while driving home from work everyday i'd rather not take the risk of giving them another reason to stop me

beautiful car, but curious why MB did the chrome trim...personally i think it looks a bit out of place w/ a darker car. i know on the BMW's, the sport models all have the chrome blacked out.
also, curious what the new S63 guys think of the interior. i've been a bit disappointed with material and feel of the old S-class interiors unless it was S600 or Designo models. is the S63's interior much different than the S550?

Turlte - I have had tint on all of my cars for the past 10 years and never been pulled over for that alone or been cited for tint when pulled over for speeding, etc. I don't go very dark though but I know the shade I get is one darker then the legal shade limit for back windows.

I have the same car. It is black/black with the performance package. I got mine in early August.
