ATF Fluid change in '03 S55 AMG

I cannot find specs or instructions on changing the automatic transmission fluid for the '03 S55 AMG.

Can anybody help me out with a MB Spec number, and whether there are aftermarket ATF companies whose fluid I can use in my transmission?

I would like to do a complete job of dropping the pan for a couple of hours, and changing the filter, and refilling with fresh fluid. I then would follow up with a fluid drain/replace every 20Kmiles or so. I have a pump to suck the oil out from the engine bay dip stick tube.

The only ATF certified for that transmission is MB. Replacing the fluid that often is a waste. While the MB recommendation, "never," is not a good idea either, every 60K is plenty.

There's only one way to properly replace the fluid in that car. Because the torque convertor has no drain plug, merely doing a suck-and-replace will leave quite a lot of dirty fluid. To completely replace the fluid you need to use a flush system that connects up to the ATF cooler hoses and put about 20 quarts through. Then change the filter and refill. Not a cheap process and why you don't want to do it too often. A good MB shop will be set up for this. If they don't use a flush system, don't waste your money. Similarly, doing it yourself and leaving the TC full of old fluid is not worth the effort. And using any ATF other than MB is asking for trouble and will void any warranty you have.
