2002 S55 90k miles reliability...also vs. 745Li
given how much i'm hearing about the supercharged V8's and how reliable my NA V8 is on my 2001 E55, i'm wondering how reliable the NA V8 is on the 2002 S55. the good news is the V8 should be bulletproof, right? the bad news is the ABC and the air suspension still goes bad occasionally and it's $1k a pop?
would you guys buy this? how do you think it'll do vs. 2003 745Li which includes automatically the 100k and 6 yr warranty til 09?

I'm a MB fan but you cant beat the BMW 7 series warranty. They replaced the door sills and a left headlight(the hole unit $1000) in a 03 745LI I had with 52k miles. The door sills were scratched and the headlight had slight fog on the inside.
Its the best warranty deal out there. Watch out, 04's dont have the same warranty. 03's were problem cars so BMW CPO'd everyone of them.
You wont have problems with the engine on the n/a e55 but other little things will pop up that wont be covered here and there. BMW warranty covers everything except for oilchanges after 50k.

No longer car shopping...
Don't forget about the 760iL's either. They ALL have 100K warranty's and are 6.0 liter engines with much nicer back seats and can be gotten for basically the same price as a similar year S55
