Changed oil in S55, but no dual oil plugs
I read alot on these forums and the E55 and they kept saying that the 55 engines have dual drain plugs and you cannot use the oil pumps through the dipsticks. So I also look at the WIS for Benz it also talks about dual plugs to be removed.
So I get under the car, remove the belly pans and find out there is no 2nd drain plug, there is only one section of the oil pan, I saw a few pictures that seemed to show two lower sections of the oil pans, but this S55 didnt have any. I also noticed that the drain plug has never been removed because there was no indents on the nut itself (usually easiest way to tell if nut has been ever removed).
So I decide to pump out the oil and I definetely pumped out nearly 8qts, so not sure why people keep saying this model cannot use oil pumps because of windage tray isses on the oil pan.
So I will definetely be pulling from the dipstick through a pump from now on as its way easier. Also reset the service indicator and Im good to go.
