2003 S55 Question - Starting in 1st gear?
Hi,
I have a 2003 S55 AMG. I love the car, the way it looks, drives, the comfort, etc. However, I feel like when I start off from a red light, sometimes the pick up is not as quick as I imagined it to be. It is definitely fast once it gets going (thanks to the close to 500hp engine and 500 ft. lb of torque), but I feel like it sometimes starts off a little slower than I expect it to.
I drive it in sport mode and I have DS selected (button near the gear) - is my S55 starting off in 1st gear or 2nd gear from a dead stop if I have DS selected? DC is comfort mode, where I thought it starts off in 2nd gear, and DS should start it in 1st gear, but I just thought I'd check here with others.
Can someone please let me know?
