what is this slot for in the 2008 s class

Hay i have a s65 and s550 and they both have this space or slot blow where u place the cd's in, so my question is what goes in there and if it can be used for music?

It sounds like you're talking about the PCMCIA slot. Yes, you can play music files in the same formats that the COMAND will read from CDs or DVDs (essentially .mp3). You need a PCMCIA card that accepts whatever form of media card you can write from your PC or other source. It's in your manuals.

Nah - it's a slot for your credit-card. Without a valid CC, your car won't start and while driving, you will be charged an extra-fee just for being a MB-customer...

Yes, exactly - SanDisk make the PCMCIA adapters that can take either SD or CF cards. I use the SD one and basically drag MP3's from my laptop onto the card and they're all there to play in the car. I use an 8gb card. Only downside is it seems that COMAND "reads" the entrie card prior to starting to play if the system is left in that mode - hence there is a slight delay before you hear music. the music an be organized however you like - I no longer use any CD's
