2004 S55 (SOLD, miss it every day), 2009 GL550
new S55 owner here, hello all
looks like it's customary to say hello, so "Hello"
just traded in a 2006 Honda CR-V for a 2004 S55.
That's in increase in horsepower of 216%
It's basically brand new, as it has only 17,200 miles. And the BMW dealer from whom it was purchased was unaware it is CPO until 12-30-2010. (Um, it has a 2" CPO sticker in the driver's door opening)
It's slower than my coworker's E55, but with this kind of power, who gives a rat's patootie?
I can see the gas gauge needle move.

Thanks for the greetings
yes, it's quite a change. I read in a couple of places, one was here I believe, that when passing a slower vehicle, move over BEFORE accelerating. In my CR-V I had to get a running start. Best advice I've read concerning the S55.
I drove big American V8s in high school (a 350ci Chevelle Malibu and a 318ci Duster - hey, i'm old) and thought those had a lot of power. Uh, no...

Congrats on getting the high powered luxo monster! Sleeper IMHO aside from the quad exhausts, wait until the mods come in such as a pulley and tune. Stock, the car already starts shaking the space time continuum once it gets moving.
