Here is a hypothetical question:
Do you think AMG should offer and would you consider any AMG car with a traditional manual transmission?

I'm sure there are many here that WANT a manual transmission offered from AMG. I would want one too, just not in an S class. I'd consider C's, SL's, etc with manual trannys.

I for one would not. Before you say yes (I have preferred a stick in ALL my other 100+ cars owned over the years) to this one make sure you spend some time using you sport tranny setting and either the gear selector or steering wheel buttons to work the gears. Like the later version of Porsche's tiptronic, being able to pop the gears up or down with the flick of the wrist and no clutch pedal is great! Plus, no pain in tha *** clutch to deal with when you are stuck in traffic.
BTW, also make sure you reset your adapative tanny often. It makes all the difference in the world if you normally just cruise around. Reset it and go make a couple of hard runs. You'll then understand why Mercedes offers an automatice versus a stick (no way you are ever going to shift that fast with a stick).

If you want a stick go buy a shelby or Cts-v AMG is or Mercedes is envied in the car world because they have built 500 + hp super cars with a autostick tranny....
