rear tires wear, and vibration, 02 S55
Hi all,
Happy Thanksgiving to all.
Two questions to get everyone's input.
1) my rear tires wearing out pre-maturing in the center - about 15k miles, but the sides look strong still. obviously this is overinflating, but this is based on inflating to the factory spec, and also visually it already looks quite low. when i get new tires, shall I keep at factory specification, or shall I adjust so I can get better wear?
2) I'm getting vibrations in my seat/headrest/some part of the car. this is different than the front tires when it's out of balance and the steering shakes. rather, it's more my butt area. Could this be from the rear tires out of balance (and/or worn on the center)? I could balance, but mechni saying no sense balancing old tires, and can't tell if that's the cause of vibration. any other causes? Btw, this is mostly at 75-80+mph...not so much below 65 mph.
Thx in advance.
Patrick
