ABC Visit Workshop

My 2003 S55 gave me the dreaded "ABC Visit Workshop!" for the first time today. I turned the car off, re-started it and the malfunction alert went away and hasn't come back. Everything seems normal - "No Malfunctions."

The car hadn't been driven for 5 days, which is the longest I've let it sit.

Should I take it to the dealer even if everything seems okay? I'm hoping this is just a one time glitch, but it's impossible to tell.

Thanks,
qcar

Yes make sure the level is up there for sure. Air in the ABC system is a cash bomb. I think when my strut was leaking slowly and I didn't watch it close enough that the pump ingested air and killed itself. Then the valve blocks joined the party! A very expensive lesson learned.

The dealer diagnosed the problem as a bad ABC distributon block on the front driver's side. The ABC pump is OK.

The car is Starmarked. I had to pay about $500 for a required ABC service, which is not covered under Starmark. MB picked up other roughly $1,500 in parts and labor. I got the car back the same day.

BTW, ABC fluid is $40 a quart!

Good news about the free fix of the valve block, I just replaced 2 with the pump and a strut at my cost!
I hate to be the bearer of bad news but you got taken on the Pentosin. I am only charged $22.50 per liter at my MB dealer. That is there retail price.
Glad your baby is back in action.
