ABC Sport - what exactly does it do?

ABC Sport - what exactly does it do?
A few questions, one: I have a 2001 S55 AMG. I saw a video where the guy pressed the ABC Sport button an a 2002 S55 AMG and it said "ABC Sport" in the dashboard. Mine does not do that. It just lights up red on the button. Is this a feature added later not found on my 01?
Also, what exactly does the ABC sport do? I know roughly that it's supposed to stiffen the suspension and steering, but I have not really felt a difference to be honest. What mechanisms does it alter? What's a good way to tell the difference?

abc sport button press it it won't display anything just a red dot illuminate on the button.. i think u just mistaken with "esp off"
abc sport stiffer the suspension and prevent body roll.. trust me you feel big difference.. try to do come hard corner w/ and w/o abc sport.

Same as that some will display "vehicle rising" when you press the ABC "up" button. It all depends on the model year instrument cluster you have.

What does ABC do? It trims about a thousand pounds off my '04 S55 when cornering hard. And it does this without screwing up the smooth ride when not cornering.
Great stuff, until you need new parts. I'm waiting on delivery of replacements for both my front struts, at about $1,700 each.

If your car is equipped with ABC, it is on all the time. The "Sport" mode just changes the settings to more aggressive setting. Most drivers have it on Sport mode all the time.

Will it wear any of the ABC components more if sport is on? Does it make it more prone to leaks or ABC failures?
