W220 Bose vs W221 H/K

What are your opinions on how the systems compare? I very much enjoyed the w220 S65 Bose system, so how does the new H/K compare?

I think the Bose Sucks. Ok, maybe it doesnt suck, but it should have been WAAAAAAAY better for a $180k car. From my BMW experience, the H/K is much much better.

bang and olufsen in the a8 is by far the best stock system only lacking slightly in low end punch.

keep in mind, I consider myself a bit of an audio snob, so take my comments with that grain of salt...

More specifically, what do you think the Bose lacks? What does the H/K lack? Are the downsides to the Bose made up in the H/K? If you wouldn't mind giving your opinion, it would be great. I see you like audio... I'm a Harman/Kardon prophet!

Having had Bose audio systems in several cars, I am not impressed with Bose. I am not an audiophile so it is difficult for me to explain, but Bose systems lack proper sound definition and depth, they are loud but not crisp to my ears.

HK systems are more refined and I hear it with more depth, definition and more dimension. Probably not audiophile vernacular but that's the best I can do.

agreed with corsa 9000.

Read this article, I felt this way before I saw the write up:

http://www.insideline.com/bmw/m6/200...gination_top_3

There was an aftermarket audio magazine that did an in depth review of the bang and olufsen system and I agreed with them 100% when I read it. It is nice to know that my opinion was validated. I will try to dig that up and post it.

It's very difficult for me to say, however I think I enjoy the H/K more so. It sounds more developed and clear. However I do agree that the A8's B&O is fantastic. Also I believe MB should at least have an option for a high end system like a Burmester.
