considering an s55
04 s55 with every option available. 140,000 miles for $15,000.
when i test drove the car it had an unusual droan/vibration through the seat that was RPM related. i could feel it as the trans downshifted while slowing into turns or up to stop lights.
thoughts?

If it's RPM related, I think it may be the flex disks that are starting to get bad.
That's not a bad price though, but becareful..it's not really $15,000. With all of the maintenance you'll have to do to it to bring it up to date, it's already going to be close to a lower mileage price. Most likely you may need some ball joint/control arm work, some engine/transmission mounts, fluid flushes, maybe even ABC if it has not been done yet.
See the history, if it's well maintained it's a good price. My S55 has 129,000 already and runs perfect.
