07 vs 09/10 tire pressure monitor system?

I just picked up some of the 20" AMG wheels that are optional on the 2009/2010 65's and 63's. The pressure monitor on that wheel is different than the ones on my 2007 20" AMG wheels. Does anybody know if the system on the 2007 would recognize and be able to utilize the newer sensors?

One question. Will changing a tire sensors to other tires is problematic? Is it necessary to buy new sensors?

Yes, we tried that. They don't fit. Different style and part number. I think they should talk to the TPMS system though (I hope) b/c I have seen older style E55's with these new AMG wheels.

I don't think 09-10 TPMS will work with 07. A friend of mine had the exact same problem, 2010 TPMS didn't work on his 07.

That's a bummer. I can't imagine any other wheels on this car. They look so good. Oh well. Thanks for the input.
