This morning, I bid farewell to my 2008 S63. The lease was up and with the coming 5.5TT engine, I could not see myself settling for a 2010 S63, or even an E63, with a soon-to-be outdated engine. The information on the new engine look too inviting - more horsepower, more torque and 20% better mileage.
Although no substitue for an AMG, I have settled on a short-term (24 month) lease for a Launch Edition E550A Cabriolet. While it isn't an AMG, I expect the power-to-weight ratio should be enough to keep me entertained.
Until we meet again.......

Funny though,I have reserved the new E Cabrio for my vacation in South of France this Summer, curious about that car myself...
May the force be with you.
I drove the E550 convertible and although it's a nice car, it ain't definitely no AMG.
You'll be back soon I expect ;-)

For an average drive in the city or local highways, there is little difference between the 63 and 550 engines. But the engine sound, better brakes and stiffer suspension of the AMG cars are part of the extra cost and cache of these cars.
Good luck with your new ride and post some pics please.

I will post some pics in the E Coupe / E Cab forum this weekend.
I'll have to tell you, even though the car has a good deal of power, I do miss the AMG exhaust note.
