S65 Blocked Cross Drilled Rotor Holes
Howdy All,
I was changing the oil this weekend and noticed the majority of the inside cross drilled front brake rotor holes were plugged up. I ended up having to take the front wheels off and running an undersize drill bit through all of the holes. It appears they were plugged up with brake pad goo and dust. The rotors and pads are only have about 12K on them si I was surprised to see they were clogged up.. A small number of the outside holes were plugged too but it is hard to notice unless you really looked. Has anyone seen this on their cars?

Well, unless you were really hard on the brakes for extended times (like on a race track) there is little reason to be concerned. The holes are designed to dissipate heat and gases a bit more efficiently.

I doublt it hurts performance at all but I must say I was surprised at the amount of gunk that came out of all the holes. It made a deent little pile on the floor.
