Need Some, "Real World" Numbers S65

All,

I'll be looking to get a used 2007 S65 next year and had some questions regarding it's moddified HP/TQ given the extra weight it carries.

Once I get one, I will upgrade the pump and HE as well as done a Tune, either EuroTek, RennTech or something similar.

Realistically with no other mods what could I epect from this when it's done (so 700HP?/850 lb/ft tq?) and what would it's zero to 60MPH and quarter mile speed be?

I love my E55 but might have to eventually upgrade to this amazing vehicle.

Thanks in advance.

Alex

I hate to disappoint you....but you are going to be on your own in this endeavor. There are only a handful of people who have taken the S65 to the track....and all of those have been the 2006 S65 (W220). The W220 S65 weighs about 200+lbs less than the 2007 (W221) S65. So using their data isn't going to be accurate.

I am sure a tuned S65 will make 560-580rwhp (probably around 520-540rwhp stock) and can be upwards of 750+lbs-ft of rear wheel torque (somewhere around 640rwtq stock). If you want to make more power, you would need to look at doing a 3" exhaust with high flow cats or do a special race gas tune.

As far as "real world" 0-60 and 1/4 mile #'s.... I hate to be the one to rain on your parade... but "real world" 0-60 times are not going to significantly improve with a tune. In fact you will be lucky to match the stock 0-60 times, as the additional torque will be very difficult to harness. You will probably notice the biggest improvement in 1/4 mile trap speed (probably 6-7mph higher). In order to harness the torque, you would need drag radials, which kind takes us out of the realm of "real world" conditions. Although, you appear to live in AZ, so maybe you could run around on the street with drag radials without the fear of too much rain spoiling things. Drag radials can easily drop your 1/4 mile (and 0-60 times) by .5 second.

Tom

Gotcha, thanks Tom, appreciate the, "Voice of Reason" response.

I would guess with a tune though the S65 from 0-150MPH would be hard to beat though correct?

Yeah, you start to hear that gush of air when you reach into those speeds especially above 140mph, but probably only a few cars would have less noise. (Like supercars that regularly go those speeds)

Here is a question, since you went 170, I assume yours is delimited to 186mph. Will most stock cars, like my 2001 S55, only go to 155?
