2005 S600 ECU/TCU - reset or not?

Hi all,

My newly purchased CPO 2005 S600 and it feels slugggish - slow to dnshift, and feels like turbo doesn't kick in until 3500 rpm. Even compared w/ other V12TT's, this feels slower...it's in MB service right now (fixing keyless handles and other small misc. items).

Recently, I've read that it may take ECU and/or TCU a while to adapt to my driving style.
Shall I ask the MB dealer to "reset" - what are pros/cons?

Also, someone mentioned car is slower if fuel mixture too rich, but my MB SA says it's computerized and nothing to adjust?
Look fwd to hearing from you guys on this.

Do you miss the S55 yet?

The ecu/tcu reset can affect it, but there could be something else wrong too - have them check it out, something could be a matter that only their computers can see.

Patrick,

If you're looking to wake up this beast, shoot me a PM. I can put you in contact with a very reputable company that can do an ECU/TCU tune on your car, if you're interested. You won't even need to take your car to them. It's a super safe tune, that a few of us V12TT guys are running. I track mine, and drive it to and from work when the mood strikes, and it's performed great.

Let me know....

BTW, I have no financial stake in this company. Just love to see people get the most out of their V12TTs

Or, you could skip PMing me entirely, and just PM Bruce at TTMotorsports. He's a sponsor here, a wealth of knowledge and an all around great guy to deal with.

I don't miss the S55, but I do miss the "quicker"/more nimble initial moves off the line and around town. Plus, my mileage was WAY better during the streets in the S55 than S600...but I'll live w/ that.

Btw, the MB SA says there's no faults/errors on the computer for engine/tranny...and they'll go for test drive tmrw.
p.s. Surprisingly, the steering on the S600(2005) feels heavier and more connected/firm compared w/ the S55(2002)
