boost loss/blow off after long run
Just wanted some input here. I have had a couple occassions that after an extended pull in 3rd gear from 50-110 or so the boost will blow off and the car loses power. There are no check engine lights or other issues that I have seen. My S600 never did this once and I tortured that car. The car continues in a somewhat reduced power mode until the car is turned off and restarted. I see no obvious issues(how much can you really see?). Could this be due to tuning or is it the blow off mechanicsm in the turbos not holding boost or some sort of safety that MB has engineered? TIA

As far as boost bleed- check for leaks. If the leak is on the intake side (BOV's, etc.), most of the time the turbo spins faster to compensate, unless the leak is bad and maxes the turbo out.
More suspect is a leak on the hot side- check your wastegates and the wastegate springs to make sure they are sealing and the springs are holding under full boost. Also, check the entire exhaust side for leaks.
