MAP sensor question...

Hey guys -

Was wondering if anyone knew if the S65 MAP sensor was a 1.5-bar, 2-bar sensor, etc...

I have a log of data and want to make sure I'm mapping boost right

Buick T-Type, 70 cuda, S65 and a very FAST Truck!
I am not sure what they are exactly but they have to be at least a 2 bar. Since they run over 20 PSI stock it would be over a 1.5 bar sensor.

Actually its probably a 3 bar sensor. At 0 pressure you have 14.7 psi (atmosphere) so in order to acheive the ability to run 20 psi of boost you actually have 14.7+20=34.7psi of pressure total. So in esence you are close to 2.5 bar already. Confusing I know.

Or even easier;

1bar for vacuum and 2 bars for boost. So on a 3 bar sensor your max readable boost is around 30psi.

Thanks guys...the theory makes sense - was always just easier to figure out in the Supra world. MB specs seem like a secret

I traded PM's with soulsearcher as well...I now have the proper conversion setup in the logger...stay tuned!
