help w220 (cluster completely dead,but lights up))
i have a 2002 s430 that i bought recently, car starts up fine and drive too, but cluster only light up, other then that nothing woking, gauges are dead, no clock or and or any messages,,, is there any reason for this or do i have to change the cluster,, also i did disconnected it to see if it helps, but after connecting it, gauges vibrated and flicker for a second and thats it, does it have to be reprogrammed o something, also will a cluster from ebay workk off of a w220,,,,thanks in advance,,,appreciate ur help......

I believe the instrument panels were recalled at one point in the W220s life. The dealer probably will replace yours for free if your car falls into the recalled. I recall that my instrument panel went out a year or so ago and I had that replaced free.

well, i will try the dealer also, but will a used one from eBay work or will there is a programming issue. (because i have not registered to car yet so that i can drive up to the dealer, thinking about getting plates once weather gets better)
