S65 Prices Coming Down?

CPO S65 with ~17k miles offered for $89,963 by MB North Houston.

Another CPO S65 with ~37k miles offered for $87,900 by MB Coral Gables.

These prices seem lower than I've seen, although I admit I haven't been actively looking.

I am looking to upgrade my '03 S600.

These are two of the least expensive "clean" S65s that I've seen which is surprising given that they're being sold at dealers and are CPO vehicles. I can't help but think that other S65s will start to come down too. Next stop 80.

I've just started looking and it seems the pricing is all over the place. I've seen clean S65's in the low 80's (not many but they are out there) and some cars going for as high as the upper teens. I know these cars have several options that drive these numbers but not 30k worth.

If anyone has a lead on a nice white fully loaded low mileage 65 I'm looking to buy today.

G/L with the hunt. I just sold my E55 last month and am looking for a S65 as well. No rush here but I can imagine the price dropping to 70's soon once the S63 BiTurbo models start getting more popular. Then again, I could be wrong.

I'm considering a similar move - trading in the E this fall when the 2012s start rolling in. I'm hoping that will allow me to get into a leftover untitled S63TT with a decent price reduction. No doubt a low-mile S65 offers the best value, but I like the sound of the new 63s gearbox and was burned badly on the one car I ever bought used. For those with better luck, it's hard to beat the bargain that the W221 65s now represent.

S65 AMG is the most depreciated car in the country.

I have personally seen an S65 marked at close to 212k in 2007 dec and saw quite a few being sold for 85k last year.

I would think the S65 would drop even lower once the S63tt gets released. But its crazy to think how much lower they can go!! From being in the 200k range to dropping into 60k-80k soon only after 3 or 4 yrs, thats just insane...

I'm looking for a S65 CPO but think I'll hold out until the 2008 models get lower. I personally love the diamond stitch interior. I'm in no rush but do miss the E55.

There is still a lot of people hanging on to hopes of getting 6 figures for their 07's and 08's with 40k + miles. I've been following these cars for a while now and I just haven't seen the 07's selling at anywhere near these numbers. Some good deals are creeping up though. Euro Motors here in MD has an 07 CPO'd 65 with 35k miles that you can buy for 80k. Problem is it's black on black and I'm done with dark colored cars on my daily driver. Found a white Designo that is also local. Only 3800 miles and the car is fully loaded for the asking price of 95k. It's the 4 seater version though so if you need the full bench in the rear it's worthless.

I'm guessing here but I dont think MB ever offered an S65 without the power rears...just like the S600, the 4 seat package was standard. Likewise there are plenty of S55 cars out there with the full bench.
Of course, you could have special ordered an S65 with the bench, but I doubt many buyers did.

I was referring to a true 4 seater. I know it's not a true bench but its a 3 passenger rear seat. Most 65's have a full rear seat for 3 people but the car I was looking at only had the buckets with a center console.

A few weeks ago I was trying to buy a low mile 07 for mid 90's and couldn't get the guy to come close to my number (he's at 114k). Now, the 08's are coming close to dipping under the 6 figure mark. The guys that have been holding out for top dollar for their 07s are getting ready to lose big. I know I've moved on from looking at 07's to searching for an 08 as well.

I'm on the fence but probably going to pull the trigger on an 07 S65 RennTech car. Low mileage with all of the main options. 199k sticker and I'll get into it around 96k. I would mod whatever car I buy so this having the RennTech package is a huge plus for me. Plus I refuse to buy another dark car and it seems the only steals out there are on black cars. Those aren't for me. Let me know what you guys think.

Besides pedal shifters on steering wheel and diamond stitch, what are other differences between 07 and 08 S65's?

Also, those S65's with rear seat controls in middle arm rest... Does that arm rest not fold up? Is it only a 4 seater? I thought the middle arm rest folded up? Please let me know. I waiting to buy a 07 or 08 when the time and price is right but there are none in Hawaii so I have to buy one from the mainland US. Please advise. Thanks in advance.

The 4 and 5 passenger cars both have the arm rest that will fold out of the way but what is normally a seat cushion in a 5 passenger car would be a small wood console in the 4 passenger car.

There's a gorgeous flint grey 07 S65 with 45K mi, mint, no paint or bodywork, pano roof, night vision, etc for sale. It has staggered 20" CEC multi-spoke wheels with good tires, which is an easy $3000 extra to buy on your own.

Price is $77K, fully inspected and prepped for delivery.

There was a nice 09 S65 on autotrader this morning for under 100k. A nice price in my estimation. This is only my second post here as I am switching to MB from BMW, but I have been doing alot of research and It looks as though the more you venture out in the S class from the S550 the more of a bath you take with depreciation. I saw some nice 08 S65's on autotrader for right at 100k so I believe by the end of the year, there will be some excellent buys to be had. In my opinion, by the end of the year the 08's and 09's will be well under 100k, with some 2010's not far above the 100 level. It is amazing how quick these things depreciate. I went to my local MB dealer this last weekend, and there were no s63's or s65's to be found on the lot, new or used. I don't know if that is out of the ordinary or not, but it leads me to believe that people who have them are holding out for top dollar and the folks trying to hang onto their 07's for six figures are going to take a bath. I am going to wait another six or seven months and grab me a nice S65 for what I think will be a super price.

I also think the AMG rarity plays a big part in why you dont see them on the dealer lots very often...just as you wont see SLR or SLS there. I scoured the Nashville trades for 6 months and never saw one '03-'06 S55'sin any of them, and only a couple of E55's. I had to go to Atlanta to find my car....good ones are just plain hard to find.

The 2007 S65s don't seem really any cheaper than what they were a year ago. I would see the occasional high $70s, more $80s, which is pretty much the same today. Except the '08 and '09s seem to have come down closer to that level but not quite yet.

I'm surprised, I thought that we'd see more early '07s breaking into $60s by now, but as was said, maybe they're holding out (which they'll be in for a rude awakening), or waiting for the next body.

There's 8 07's for sale on Ebay.....only one is over 94k and they'll never see it, 4 are 80-85k, and 3 are sub 80k. These are ASKING prices as well. No offense, but you're getting hosed. The Renntech and mileage are only worth so much. I'd do a little more looking if I were you.....or buy my '06 65 for only 35k, how's that for depreciation?
