Sirius Radio
i just bought an 03 gmc 2500hd extended cab pickup and it has xm. it is much more enjoyable than i thought it would be. i almost never listen to cd's or fm anymore. the reception is crystal clear and the sound is very full...not tinny like fm can be. it's a keeper in my book.
Also you have to put a cassette in the tape deck which has a wire coming off it. I have a 2001 E55 AMG and as you probably know with the MB the cassette door is the front of the radio. It has to be closed or you will get an annoying beep about every 15 seconds. With the wire you have to really jam the door closed. It crimps the wire a bit and occassionally the door loosens enough to start the beeping.
I bought XM stock I liked it so much (XMSR). It has almost tripled since I bought it a couple months ago. Unfortunately I didn't buy enough to get an S55 which I dearly covet.
As MB is part of Daimler-Chrysler, and Chrysler is putting in Sirius radios in their cars, I would fully expect MB to put in Sirius radios.
DCX and Ford are backing Sirius. Honda, Toyota, and GM are putting in XM radios (GM is a major investor in XMSR).
By the way, the E55 sight has a ton of activity. I guess the S55 is more rarified air so fewer folks on the board!
