Dashlights issue Any help???

Hey everyone I'm trying to get my friends into the s class game and stop playing with the rice rockets out here in NYC but my friend just baught a 2004 s430 and all his dash lights and gauges went out and his headlights stay on. None of the buttons work anymore ?? Could this be a fuse problem? Or is this just another s class defect because Iv delt with almost of s class problems with my s600 but never this ?? Any help adressing this issue?

This is a well known problem. MB has a warranty extension for 10 years on the dash unit. Just do a quick search and you will find lots of info.
